Open Access and Copyright Policy

Open Access

All EESH proceedings chapters are available through “Gold Open Access” and bear Creative Commons Licenses either CC BY or CC BY-NC-ND licenses. In this model, the authors or their institution/funders pay an Article Publication Charge (APC) and the articles are immediately freely available online immediately and permanently for everyone to read, download and share.

APC Waiver Policy

In order to encourage international academic participation especially from economically depressed nations and as part of our corporate social responsibility initiaitve, partial waivers are offered on a case by case basis ranging from 50% for authors from low-income nations to 25% for those from lower-middle income nations as classified by the World Bank. Corresponding authors may request these waivers upon editorial acceptance of their chapters.

Copyright

Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives the sole right to its owner of the scholar work. Copyright allows the owners of a work to retain the rights of the research and decide to use and share their research under which conditions.

Creative Commons Licenses

Creative Commons licenses provide an easy way to manage the copyright terms that attach automatically to all creative material under copyright. Our licenses allow that material to be shared and reused under terms that are flexible and legally sound. Creative Commons offers a core suite of six copyright licenses.

CC BY

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode

This license is the most permissive among the other six licenses. It allows unlimited free access to and reuse of original works without the need to request for permission or pay a fee to the publisher. As long as due credit is given to the authors, the manuscripts may be reused in any format even commercially.

CC BY-NC-ND

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode

This license is the most restictive one which allows for unlimited free access to and reuse of original works without the need to request for permission or pay a fee to the publisher. As long as due credit is given to the authors, the manuscripts may be reused in any format except for commercial purposes.
